Shift: Monday-Friday | Typically 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Overtime required as needed) - May also have 2nd shift available 2:00 pm -10:30 pm

Hourly Pay Range and Other Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $19.00 - $19.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

As an SMT Operator, you will support electronics manufacturing operations by setting up, operating, and monitoring Surface Mount Technology equipment used in the production of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). You will work from production documentation and established procedures to ensure products are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor SMT production equipment used to assemble printed circuit boards.
• Load and unload component reels, feeders, trays, and other materials required for production.
• Verify correct components, part numbers, polarity, orientation, and feeder locations before and during production runs.
• Operate pick-and-place equipment, solder paste printers, reflow ovens, and related SMT equipment as required.
• Perform machine changeovers and basic equipment adjustments according to production requirements.
• Monitor production runs and identify machine errors, component issues, or other process abnormalities.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate equipment or quality issues when necessary.
• Inspect PCB assemblies for component placement, solder quality, missing components, and other visible defects.
• Read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and production documentation.
• Accurately complete production, material usage, and quality documentation.
• Follow proper ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures when handling electronic components and assemblies.

Qualifications

• Previous SMT machine operation, electronics manufacturing, or PCB assembly experience preferred.
• Experience operating pick-and-place machines, screen printers, reflow ovens, or similar SMT equipment is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic components, component reels, feeders, and printed circuit boards.
• Ability to identify basic electronic component types, polarity, and orientation.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, BOMs, and production documentation.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Familiarity with IPC-A-610 workmanship standards is a plus.
• Basic computer skills and ability to enter production information accurately.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work with small components while maintaining accuracy and quality.
