Financial AnalystAs a Financial Analyst for the Revenue Operations and Margin FP&A team, you will be responsible for providing financial support and analysis for the company-wide Revenue and Margin forecasting, planning, and reviews. You will perform research and financial modeling to help future business planning decisions, and summarize and present findings to leadership, including C-Staff. You will interface with cross-functional teams and have an opportunity to contribute to various business challenges. The position requires business partnership with Operations, Sales Operations, Revenue Accounting, Treasury, FP&A, Finance, and ERDM teams in analyzing and shaping NetApp's revenue, margin and cash forecasts and related operational management of the revenue cycle. Primary responsibility is to analyze NetApp's key performance indicators to determine accurate revenue and margin forecasts, and to resolve any issues around that forecast. This role reports to Director of Finance. The Financial Analyst's role has responsibility for a wide range of financial support and analysis. You will help to ensure that departmental objectives and project deadlines are met and clearly communicated. The essential functions of the department include:Prepare forecasts and drive operational and financial metrics in support of key decision-making for worldwide revenue and marginsGather, analyze, prepare, and summarize recommendations for financial plans by reviewing QTD actuals, analyzing historical trends, and considering expected future trendsWork closely with cross-functional groups, including Sales Operations, Sales, Manufacturing, Business Units, Revenue Accounting, and other finance teams to ensure accuracy in forecasting deliverablesBuild data models and perform scenario analysis in Excel by synthesizing data from multiple systems and manual recordsCreate and communicate schedules to cross-functional teams for month-end and quarter-end deliverables, set up review meetings, and consolidate inputsPresent revenue and margin forecasts and actuals to cross-functional leadership teams, including the CEO and CFOMaximize NetApp's financial performance while limiting the economic and business risk to the CompanyEngage with various stakeholders on how to improve revenueEssential Functions:Provide a quarterly and monthly revenue forecastConsolidate total company revenue forecast, including deferred services, professional services, OEM, and contra revenue forecasts, and provide variance explanations against AOP & prior forecastsPartner with Sales Ops to determine future bookings to revenue conversionsWork with Field HQ FP&A on forecast assumptions related to deferred & non-deferred product mix, carve allocations, and reserves that go into the monthly revenue forecastPartner with Revenue Accounting on adjustments that impact the revenue forecastPartner with Field HQ finance on AOP & long-term revenue forecast modelingProvide Finance support for Bookings, Billings, & Backlog (BBB) data, including BBB executive dashboardsParticipate in various finance projectsProvide quarter-end revenue forecast vs actual variance analysisJob Requirements:Strong FP&A ability and the capability to move beyond reporting to analysis and actionsAbility to model complex situations and develop tools to support analysesWorking knowledge of Revenue recognition in a US GAAP Tech CompanyAbility to analyze complex data sets situations and make recommendations to resolve issuesThis individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions, and with external partiesLimited supervision is provided, as the role requires an individual who can operate, drive results, and set priorities independentlyGood interpersonal communication skills as needed to work successfully with staff and managers within and outside of functionEducation and Experience:Undergraduate degree in Business or Accounting preferred. 12+ years experience in Accounting / FinanceCompensation: The target salary range for this position is 147,900 - 220,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
