Environmental Services Aide - Mclean County Nursing Home

Minimum Starting Rate: $16.0750-$17.6182/hour


Position Schedule: Daytime hours; will include some weekendshifts


Position Summary

This position performs general cleaning and laundryactivities at the McLean County Nursing Home and follows an assigned cleaningschedule that helps ensure a clean and friendly environment for staff andresidents.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Cleans and services wings rooms bathrooms and officesefficiently and safely.

Transfers clean wet linen from washer and place it indryers.


Removes dry linens from dryer folds sorts and stacks linenson carts for redistribution to wings.

Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Ability to follow established departmental policies andprocedures including appropriate dress code.


Ability to follow and complete cleaning schedules daily asassigned.


Maintain an atmosphere of warmth personal interest andpositive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the department.


Must maintain the care and use of supplies equipment theappearance of work areas and perform regular inspections of the laundry areaand equipment for sanitation order safety and proper performance of assignedduties.


Ability to work independently as well as with others


Required Qualifications

High school graduation or possession of a GED certificate;and some experience (0-1 year) with general housekeeping and laundry services;or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would providethe above noted knowledge skills and abilities.

Work is performed in a nursing home involves exposure tobody fluids, cleaning chemicals, and washing detergents. May involve contactwith distraught or angry individuals. May include exposure and interaction withanimals visiting the facility.
