Crane Operator Job Postings Department: Construction Location: Pasadena, TX Work schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday. Weekends on an as needed basis. For more details, please ask our recruiters! Core Job Responsibilities Operates specialized machinery such as telescope booms and lattice booms. Calculates load capacity, determining weight of items to be moved in relation to the maximum capacity of crane based on manufacturers specifications. Inspects clearances, overhead lines, and other possible obstructions to ensure there are no accidents or damage to employees, buildings, loads, or equipment. Inspects and assesses ground conditions to ensure that the crane can be set up safely. Inspects cranes for defects and wear prior to operation; performs necessary repairs or maintenance. Complies with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices. Maintains logs and records of operation activities. Performs other related duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications NCCCO Certification (Telescopic Boom Crane‑Swing and Fixed Cab). TWIC Card (for most sites) 4+ years’ experience operating cranes in an industrial setting. Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records. Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems. Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record. Physical Requirements Must provide proof of passed DOT Physical. Stand or walk for long periods of time. Will talk and hear to communicate. Use arms and hands to signal, reach for, handle or manipulate objects, materials, and tools. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE. Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs. See well (naturally or with correction). Eye‑hand coordination. Good physical fitness. Good sense of balance. Work at heights. Tool Requirements Employees are required to utilize their own tools. A detailed tool list will be provided during processing. Environment Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical outdoor manufacturing setting which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, work at elevated heights, climbing of stairs and ladders, and physical manipulation of tools and mechanical equipment.
