Job Summary

Ultrasonographer General Bakersfield, California. Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, produces images used to diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions, and presents findings to physicians. Provides direct patient care, maintains equipment, and supervises and mentors ultrasound personnel.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Diploma or certificate from an ultrasound college or school; current certification or registration in abdominal, obstetric, or vascular sonography; or registration in sonography or vascular sonography; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; ability to perform the role in accordance with applicable California and Hawaii requirements.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC; multiple sonography specialty areas.
• Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week; on-call coverage is required three times per week after each shift, and holiday coverage is required in December.
• Additional Information: Performs ultrasound examinations and captures quality images of tissues, organs, vessels, and pathology. Documents and verifies images, findings, calculations, and measurements; assesses patients, positions patients and equipment, prepares patients for procedures, monitors vital signs, observes for complications, and maintains patient confidentiality. Verifies equipment operation before use, prepares rooms for procedures, and supervises and mentors ultrasound personnel.
