Radiation Therapist

Join a radiation oncology department. Work Monday through Friday with a schedule of five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts. Experience working with adults and geriatrics is essential. Ideal candidates will have charge experience. Patient ratios are expected to be approximately 2 patients per therapist. Familiarity with charting systems, specifically Epic, is preferred. Experience in a community hospital setting is preferred. Skills in the following areas are required: adult acute care and outpatient treatment. Billing for treatment types and devices. Block cutting and custom molds and shields. External beam therapy and intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). Knowledge of prophylactic treatments and prostate cancer treatments with seeds/fiducials. Understanding of radiation safety and respiratory gating. Simulation of treatment sites and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) are also important. Candidates should be familiar with TrueBeam technology and tumor localization. Participation in an interdisciplinary support team is crucial. Daily patient census will include approximately 30 patients undergoing external beam radiation therapy. This position requires flexibility and a commitment to patient care.
