Job Description:


- Shift: 12-hour days
- Weekend Requirement: 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
- Holidays: Based on unit coverage

Unit Highlights:


- Level 1 Trauma Experience Required!
- Excellent Opportunities: Work in a high-acuity teaching hospital
- Expectations: Float among all ICU areas and MedSurg/Tele units
- Competency: Must be well-rounded and independent in all ICU settings
- Patient Care Ratios:
- Tower 2: 1:2 ratio (Medical, Surgical, Trauma)
- Tower 4: 1:2 ratio (Cardiothoracic ICU, Lung Transplants, ECMO)
- 4 Neuro: 1:2 ratio (Neuro-specific ICU)

Mandatory Requirements:


- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS required; NIHSS preferred
- Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam: Must pass within 2 attempts (80% passing score)

Key Responsibilities:


- Perform critical care tasks including Foley catheter insertion & central line dressing changes
- Understand and maintain a sterile field during procedures
- Complete SIMs Lab (Skills pass/fail)
- Participate in additional educational training for lifts, restraints, & wound care

Schedule Details:


- Shifts: 7 AM - 7:30 PM or 7 PM - 7:30 AM
- Orientation: 2 shifts, potential for a third shift as needed
- Documentation: Reports completed at bedside

Cancellation Policy:
- Up to 4 shift cancellations allowed per 13-week assignment
