Responsibilities Perform legal compliance functions under the supervision of the Director of Compliance. Intake, investigate, and respond to complaints and misconduct, including general complaints, employee complaints, Title IX complaints, discrimination, CDE, EEOC, OCR, and CCRD complaints. Conduct informal fact finding, prepare investigation findings letters, discipline documents, and other closure documents. Provide advice to site administrators and district managers regarding complaint resolutions. Facilitate conflict mediation where needed. Review, analyze, and respond to requests for records such as subpoenas, Public Records Act requests, and Requests for Information. Intake, analyze, and engage in the interactive process with employees. Track investigation status and record dispositions. Maintain detailed records of complaints, interactive process matters, and employee discipline matters. Report child abuse and sexual assault cases to appropriate agencies within legal time limits. Communicate effectively with administrators, employees, parents, and law enforcement throughout investigations. Assist with compliance under Federal Program Monitoring. Plan, prioritize, and organize work to meet deadlines. Recommend policy or procedural revisions based on investigation findings. Provide training to staff on complaints and investigations. Create and maintain templates for compliance investigations and disciplinary processes. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum three years of diversified experience in complaint investigations and responses in education, legal, or human resources. Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, education, human resources, or related field (paralegal education preferred). Valid California driver’s license with available private transportation. Knowledge & Skills Applicable laws, codes, regulations, and policies. District Board Policies, Administrative Regulations, and collective bargaining agreements. District organization, operations, and objectives. Interview and fact analysis techniques. Effective oral and written communication. Interpersonal skills with empathy, tact, and patience. Confidentiality rights of employees, students, staff, and families. Ability to work independently with initiative and limited direction. Background Checks and Training DOJ and FBI Criminal Background Check TB Test within the last 60 days Complete district mandated reporter training, sexual harassment training, and related pour professional development.
