Creative Dining Services is growing and looking for a friendly, knowledgeable Cook to join our team at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, TN ! As the cook, this role works within the Dining Services Department to ensure that high quality, properly seasoned, nutritious food is being provided throughout the operation in a fiscally responsible and safe manner. This role will be involved in daily preparation, cooking and serving of food and menu items - this will also include cleaning and dishwashing as well as any other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Availability: Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 3:00pm no nights or weekends!
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
- knowledge of proper food safety, food handling, storage and service techniques
- familiarity with batch-cooking techniques and time management to avoid over/under production
- follow recipes and prepare food items in a manner that preserves freshness, quality and appeal
- Excellent customer service skills
- Eye on safety - maintains a clean, safe work environment at all times
- Team attitude - supports other kitchen employees in assuring that all essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
- ServSafe Certification preferred
