Job Description

West Catholic High School is looking for a full-time (32 hours per week) Food Service Assistant to work at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic School. The position is scheduled five days a week 8am-3pm during the school year (mid-August thru the first week in June). The following are characteristics of an ideal candidate:

General knowledge and understanding of nutrition
Ability to interact positively with students, staff, and other personnel
Excellent organizational skills and able to respond and adapt when necessary
Dependable, with experience working in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods
Practicing Catholic preferred Essential tasks performed:
Prepares food items according to standardized recipes and directions
Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
Learn Point of Sale program, maintains students lunch accounts
Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guests, students, and co-workers
Food preparation according to written and oral instructions
Ability to work independently, or with others, in a close fast paced environment and the ability to address customers in a pleasant, courteous manner
Physical requirements include walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to be exposed to chemicals. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks.
