Role accountabilities As part of this role, you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks. Fieldwork will also be a key aspect of this position, which will offer you an opportunity to be trained to oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, construction and operation and maintenance of remediation systems, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, among other tasks. It is essential to conduct fieldwork with a focus on health and safety. Your core duties will include Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda. Office work that may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts. Conducting field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling in accordance with Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) SOPs. Field work will require regional business travel for an average of 4-5 days per week and sometimes up to two weeks within the U.S. per year. To be successful in this role, you should possess strong written and oral communication skills, be self‑motivated, and exhibit independent thinking. You should be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely. Successful candidates will demonstrate their ability to be adaptable, creative problem solvers who can work collaboratively as a team member. Candidates must have a good driving record, be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods, and must be able to meet the physical demands associated with field work, including lifting heavy equipment and standing for extended periods. Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications BA or BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Kentucky DEP environmental regulations and SOPs. Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hr / 8-hr training. Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory internship experience. 1 year of field experience is preferred but not required. The salary range for this position is $49,680 – $74,520 per year, varying by experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
