Job Description Job Description Location: Petaluma, CA Reports to: Practice Dentist/Oral Surgeon Position Type: Part-time We are seeking a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to join our surgical team in a modern, state-of-the-art, well-established dental practice located in downtown Petaluma. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that values collaboration, a positive attitude, and a commitment to excellent patient care. Experience is a plus but not required; training is provided. Key responsibilities and scope: Assist the dental surgeon during surgical procedures and chairside duties. Prepare and maintain operatory rooms and instruments to meet infection-control and safety standards. Obtain and document patient histories, take high-quality intra-oral photographs, and assist with patient education. Utilize practice computer systems for documentation, charting, and scheduling. Participate in virtual surgical treatment planning, including use of 3D planning software (training provided). Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and follow office protocols. Training and technical requirements: Computer literacy required; ability to navigate electronic health records, scheduling systems, and standard office software. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Google Suite preferred; full training provided on practice-specific systems and 3D virtual surgery software.
