Field Service Technician

Senior Refrigeration TechnicianExperienced Senior Refrigeration Technician with strong hands-on expertise in DX refrigeration systems and CO? (R744) refrigeration. This role supports commercial and industrial refrigeration installations, service, troubleshooting, startups, and commissioning focus on Walmart business. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient in the field, safety-focused, and comfortable working on advanced refrigeration and control systems.Key ResponsibilitiesService, diagnose, and repair DX and CO? refrigeration systems, including single systems, rack systems, and trans critical CO? applicationsPerform system startups, commissioning, for new and retrofit installationsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues, including compressors, valves, sensors, gas coolers, and electronic expansion devicesInterpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control sequencesProperly document service activities, findings, and corrective actions using service reportsWork safely and in compliance with EPA, OSHA, and company safety standardsCollaborate with project managers, service coordinators, OEMs, and customersProvide technical support and mentorship to 1st tier support technicians when neededRequired Qualifications5–10 years of refrigeration experience, with a strong emphasis on DX systemsDemonstrated, hands-on experience with CO? (R744) refrigeration systemsStrong working knowledge of:Commercial rack systemsTranscritical CO? systems (preferred)Mechanical and electrical troubleshootingRefrigeration controls and sensorsAbility to work independently in customer facilitiesEPA Section 608 Certification (Universal preferred)Valid driver's license with acceptable driving recordWillingness to work on-call or travel as requiredPreferred QualificationsStartup and commissioning experience for CO? systemsExperience with OEM platforms such as Danfoss, Emerson, Carel, Hussmann, or HillphoenixVocational, technical school, or apprenticeship backgroundExperience in industrial, grocery, cold storage, or data center environmentsPhysical & Work RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50–75 lbsAbility to work at heights, in mechanical rooms, and outdoor environmentsComfortable working in cold and hot conditions Carel USA
