Our core values drive every decision on the floor and in the boardroom: Discover What's Possible Step Into Support Make It Happen Raise the Bar Take Pride QC/QA Manager Location: Middletown, NY (On‑Site) Reports to: Head of Operations The Role Poly Craft Industries is seeking a hands‑on QC/QA Manager to lead our quality efforts across our flexible packaging operation. This individual will ensure products meet specifications, customer expectations, and food safety requirements. We’re looking for someone who is detail‑oriented, practical, decisive, and comfortable spending time on the production floor. The ideal candidate understands both the paperwork and the reality of manufacturing. They can balance production realities with quality standards and are confident determining whether product should be shipped, placed on hold, reworked, or rerun. They will prepare for audits while building relationships with production teams to prevent issues before they happen. Quality Control (QC) Responsibilities Oversee inspection and testing of incoming materials, in‑process production, and finished goods. Analyze quality data to identify trends, investigate defects, and address recurring issues. Make product disposition decisions, including release, hold, rework, concession requests, or reruns. Work closely with production teams to resolve quality concerns and ensure compliance with customer and internal standards. Maintain inspection records and quality documentation. Spend regular time on the production floor to observe processes and address issues in real time. Lead customer complaint investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Monitor quality metrics, including complaint trends, defect rates, and customer feedback, and partner with cross‑functional teams to implement improvements and prevent recurrence. Quality Assurance (QA) Responsibilities Serve as the SQF Practitioner and maintain SQF, GMP, HACCP, and food safety programs. Lead internal, customer, and regulatory audits and maintain audit readiness. Manage approved supplier programs and supplier quality initiatives. Maintain SOPs, quality manuals, food safety documentation, and traceability programs. Train employees on quality expectations, GMPs, food safety requirements, and best practices. Foster a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment. Flexible packaging experience strongly preferred. Working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, and food safety systems. Strong judgment and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Comfortable having difficult conversations and holding quality standards, even when unpopular. Strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis skills. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, auditors, operators, and leadership. Highly organized with strong follow‑through and documentation skills.
