Commercial Technician

Purpose Job Description Responsible for performing installations, service calls, and maintenance of broadband and telecom services at commercial sites. The role ensures business clients receive timely, high-quality service aligned with contract expectations and safety standards. Responsibilities Install, configure, and service telecom and broadband products (internet, voice, video) in commercial environments Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on-site to resolve service issues Maintain and update service logs, installation records, and equipment inventories Communicate clearly with commercial clients and site contacts Ensure compliance with all site-specific safety and access protocols Coordinate with dispatch and project teams to manage job scheduling and updates Maintain company equipment and vehicles in safe, working condition Support structured cabling or rack equipment installation as required Key Measures / Key Performance Indicators First-time installation success rate On-time arrival and job completion metrics Client satisfaction scores Repeat service rate for same-location issues Compliance with commercial job site protocols Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred (e.g., low-voltage, structured cabling) Experience 1–3 years of experience in broadband/telecom installation in commercial settings Experience working in office buildings, retail centers, or multi-dwelling units preferred Exposure Commercial job site protocols and infrastructure Telecom equipment, networking devices, and structured cabling Safety and compliance requirements in commercial environments Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position: Technical proficiency and client professionalism Flexibility to work in complex environments Strong record-keeping and field reporting habits Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and sit Ability to use hands to handle or feet Ability to reach with hands and arms Ability to climb and balance Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and crawl Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to maintain all safety expectations Please Note This is a safety-sensitive position.
