What You'll Do

• Manage and monitor trauma patients on the Level II Trauma service
• Take patient histories, perform physical exams, and develop treatment plans
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
• Recognize and respond promptly to critical situations, collaborating with physicians as needed
• Provide patient counseling on health management and discharge planning
• Facilitate patient admissions, referrals, and continuity of care
• Assist as needed in surgical procedures, including first or second assist roles (training provided)

What You Need

• Active California Nurse Practitioner license
• Trauma or Critical Care experience (minimum 3+ years preferred)
• Certification in BLS/ACLS
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to a fast-paced environment
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills

About the Assignment This assignment involves providing advanced clinical support at a busy Level II Trauma Center in Redding, CA. The role supports a single trauma surgeon and a dedicated support team, managing around 20-25 trauma patients daily. You will be integral to patient management, including assessments, procedures, and coordination of care within a multidisciplinary team. The facility primarily handles adult trauma cases, with minimal pediatric patients.
