This role requires strong experience in managing post-operative patients, with a preference for candidates who have worked in larger healthcare facilities. Key Responsibilities\n \n Provide nursing care to patients in a step-down environment from the General Surgical ICU. \n Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management. \n Administer intravenous therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration. \n Manage ventilator care for chronic tracheostomy patients. \n Provide respiratory support using various methods including CPAP and BiPAP. \n Participate in Rapid Response and Code team activation as needed. \n Implement isolation precautions and monitor telemetry settings. \n Occasionally float to other PCU or Med-Surg units as required. \n Qualifications\n \n Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a facility with 250 or more beds. \n Eagerness to excel within a supportive and high-acuity environment. \n Must have experience with epic charting system. \n Preferred certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. \n Strong skills in the management of cardiac drips and central/peripheral line care. \n Ability to effectively respond to medical emergencies and provide high-quality patient care. \n Patient Care and Environment\n This unit typically has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, with an ideal goal of 1:4. You will be caring for adult and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses in a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team setting. Daily census is around 20 patients, supported by various interdisciplinary services including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy.
