Principal Engineer, Network Security Engineering

Principal Engineer, Security Engineering role at Cencora overseeing threat analysis, incident response, and enterprise security policy implementation. Requires 8+ years in information security with technical expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, cloud security, and security tools.

Responsibilities

Analyze security and compliance trends; develop risk mitigation plans and oversee assessments
Lead incident response investigations and coordinate with third-party responders
Design and implement enterprise-wide security policies and controls across platforms
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to security engineering teams
Monitor emerging threats and vulnerabilities; deploy tools for threat hunting and vulnerability management

Requirements

8+ years directly-related or relevant information security experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
Expert knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (SOX, ISO 27001/27002, NIST, PCI)
Proficiency with security tools: SIEM, EDR, SOAR, firewalls, IDS/IPS
Strong network systems, identity access management, and root cause analysis skills
Programming knowledge in Python, SQL, JavaScript, or HTML/CSS
Preferred certifications: CISSP, CCSP, CISM, Azure Security Engineer, or CompTIA Security+
