Emergency Services Technician

Responsibilities PATIENT CARE : Provides patient care to newborn, child, adult and geriatric patients as delegated by and under the supervision of a registered nurse. COMMUNICATION : Uses appropriate communication skills in dealing with patients, visitors, EMS personnel, hospital personnel. ENVIRONMENTAL DUTIES : Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for maintenance and safety of unit equipment and supplies. EDUCATION : Demonstrates and maintains active working knowledge of the Credentialing competencies for Emergency Services Techs. There will be a three-month leeway between time of hire and mandatory completion of competencies which will be turned in to nurse manager. PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR : Demonstrates professionalism in appearance and actions. Qualifications Education High School diploma or equivalent. Experience Previous patient care experience in an Emergency environment and/or with children strongly preferred Skills Basic medical terminology. Computer familiarity. Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments. Licensure BLS for Providers certification from the American Heart Association required.
