Make an immediate impact supporting students by utilizing your expertise in speech-language pathology within an engaging elementary school setting. This contract position is set to begin on August 10, 2026, and continue through December 2026, providing critical coverage for a maternity leave—plus, there is a possibility of extension through the full school year.

With a focus on three medically fragile classrooms, you’ll collaborate closely alongside another SLP and a dedicated SLPA, ensuring each student receives the highest level of care and communication support. The position offers 32.5 to 35 hours per week within a nurturing, team-based environment.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid CA Speech-Language Pathology license and Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
• Prior work in a school-based setting, especially with medically fragile or special needs students
• Proficient in assessing, programming, and using AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaborative skills
• Warm, compassionate, and adaptable to a dynamic classroom environment
• Ability to work effectively with both students and fellow speech professionals

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative SLP services to students in medically fragile classrooms
• Develop and implement individualized therapy goals, integrating AAC strategies
• Partner with the on-site SLP, SLPA, teachers, and families to maximize student outcomes
• Document progress and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Provide expert input and recommendations on AAC device selection and usage
