Patient Care Coordinator (PCC)

Patient Care Coordinator Berkeley & Walnut Creek (East Bay)

Join a well-established gastroenterology practice where you'll play an important role in supporting patient care and keeping daily operations running smoothly. We're looking for a dependable, organized team member who enjoys working with patients and collaborating with others. This role will split time between our two offices, located in Berkeley and Walnut Creek.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain patient charts and documentation
• Verify insurance and assist with prior authorizations
• Answer calls, respond to messages, and manage incoming faxes
• Schedule procedures and coordinate with surgical centers
• Review and communicate patient results using Epic EHR
• Collect co-pays and assist with account balances
• Provide occasional front desk or call center support
• Assist with additional tasks as needed
• Occasional overtime may be required

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience
• Experience with Epic EHR required (GI experience a plus)
• Familiarity with PPO, HMO, and Medicare insurance plans
• Knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology
• Ability to travel between Berkeley and Walnut Creek offices

Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay range: $24$28 per hour, based on experience
• Full-time position (40 hours/week) with occasional overtime
