Network Engineer - SeniorThis position involves contributing to the development of the client's network monitoring and management environment. It is fully remote and open to contract and contract to perm talent, with a preference for contract to perm. The manager prefers a bill rate range of $98-100/hour, but is open to slightly more depending on the talent. There is no maximum number of shortlisted resumes for the manager to review.Responsibilities include:Developing the client's network monitoring and management environmentUnderstanding standard models used to architect and design large enterprise solutions to monitor and handle network infrastructureExtensive experience with commercial network performance management vendors and products, including Broadcom, Cisco Thousand Eyes, Cisco Splunk, AppNeta, and IgnioKnowledge of and experience with the concepts, strategies, technologies, protocols, standards, applications, and tools vital to build a premier network management environmentExperience in installation, operation, and customization of network tooling products in accordance with customer requirements and best practicesProven knowledge and experience managing large network infrastructure similar in size to the clientProviding technical direction and training to client networking personnel on the use/operation of network monitoring and management applicationsWorking with product vendors and client purchasing for procurement of selected productsAnalyzing system functions and failures to isolate and define problem areasMonitoring the reachability of all connections within the network adhering to circuit restoral prioritiesProviding both on-site and remote technical participation vital to insure the continuing operation and optimization of the networkAbility to work independently and/or as part of a teamOther preferred skills and knowledge include experience with software development and automation strategies and technologies such as Python, Ansible, and GitHub, as well as experience with data collection, processing, analysis, reporting, and dashboarding with Excel, PowerBI, or similar business intelligence applications.
