ED Registrar II - AS PAS Walnut Creek - Per Diem - 8 Hour - Variable Shift

Patient Access Services (PAS) ED Registrar II The ED Registrar II coordinates registration, authorization, and information processing requirements associated with Emergency Department services, gathering required demographic, clinical and financial information accurately and promptly to facilitate patient interactions with John Muir’s healthcare services. The role reports directly to the department manager. Qualifications High School Graduate or Equivalent (preferred) Minimum two (2) years of experience in insurance plan payment practices and billing requirements (preferred) Minimum two (2) years of experience in information technology – electronic health records (preferred) Minimum two (2) years of experience in a medical office setting (preferred) Excellent spelling, grammar, written and verbal communication skills, and customer service skills, with the ability to handle challenging circumstances compassionately and flexibly Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work within established time frames Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; willingness and ability to learn new software programs as needed, including Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) (preferred) Strong keyboard skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team Work Hours & Compensation Variable days per week with 8‑hour days. Pay range: $33.99 – $44.97 per hour, based on demonstrated experience and licensure. Pay may be adjusted to match the local market if hired outside the Bay Area.
