Program Manager

Summary Position is responsible for overall program performance, including schedule performance, cost performance, and customer affinity through execution of the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct all phases of the program from requirements analysis, initial planning through all phases to successful product delivery and assure a timely close‑out of completed programs, ensuring all obligations are satisfied and program documentation is properly recorded. Support program bid and proposal activities. Ensure that requirements of the request for proposal are met in the preparation and documentation of bids and proposals. Develop and implement plans and schedules to execute contracts/subcontracts. Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel, and purchased services. Report program status to senior management as required. Develop and maintain the program integrated master schedule, including internal and external milestones and phases as established by the respective program teams. Establish and monitor adherence to program master plans and schedules, identify program problems, obtain solutions, and direct allocation of resources. Develop and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedule are evident. Seek senior management assistance in resolving schedule and budget problems as they arise. Formally identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle. Obtain management approval prior to making decisions that could deteriorate program, cost, or schedule objectives. Contribute to program financial forecasts and report progress to financial objectives. Coordinate with other departments to resolve contractual problems with the customer. Coordinate with Sr Program Manager and Contracts Manager on issues pertaining to contract requirements, changes, and interpretations. Communicate program status, issues, risks, opportunities, and plans to internal senior management. Ensure coordination across multiple programs and/or projects and with other product line leads. Direct and coordinate multi‑million‑ to billion‑dollar proposal activities from U.S. and foreign governments. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree or 20+ years of related work experience. Successful track record in managing or proposing complex aerospace/defense projects as a prime or subcontractor to a domestic or foreign military organization. Dynamic and energetic leader who involves other team members in decision making and change processes. Experience with earned‑value cost accounting and reporting preferred; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity, and variance analysis. Ability to coordinate and work with cross‑functional teams. Strong communication skills to advise team members and senior management on status and/or actions. Microsoft Office Suite skills, including PowerPoint. Active Secret security clearance preferred; issuance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment is required – DoD. High‑energy and self‑driven individual capable of making things happen without a large support organization. Team‑oriented personality focused on the success of the customer, program, organization, and business. Only U.S. citizens eligible for this role due to U.S. Government contract requirements. Security Responsibilities Comply with all company security and data protection/usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Do not divulge information or provide access to employees lacking a need‑to‑know. Do not divulge information outside the company without management approval. All government and proprietary information accessed and stored electronically on company‑provided resources. Eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. Only U.S. citizens eligible for this role due to U.S. Government contract requirements. Work Environment Ability to travel nationally on occasion. Work performed in an office environment. Occasional activity in a simulator high‑bay environment. Occasional activity in a simulator computer lab. Physical Demands Operate personal computer and communicate via telephone. Work many hours under pressure. Work overtime as needed.
