RN - Labor and Delivery


Job Details:


• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 6-week contract length
• 2 weekends out of 4 as required with holiday rotations on an every other basis
• Primary placement in OB/Labor and Delivery unit with a Level 1 maternity/Level 1 nursery as well as post-op GYN patients
• May float to Med/Surg, ER, or ICU for tasks such as vital signs, answering lights, and completing patient histories (no patient assignment and no isolation rooms)
• May also need to float to other locations in the Southern region as needed
• No on-call or back-up requirements; additional shifts may be available for sick call coverage
• Nurses cover labor, post-partum, and newborn nursery care (not separate units)
• Staffing adheres to AWHONN guidelines
• 8-bed unit with 2 labor rooms and 6 post-partum beds; average monthly delivery rate is approximately 10 per month
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off will be accommodated
• Charting experience with EPIC required
• Minimum 2 years of OB experience with Labor and Delivery experience required
• 1 prior travel assignment required
• Critical access hospital experience highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, Advanced NRP, WI RN license; AWHONN and PALS preferred (AHA or ARC certifications required)
• Scrub colors: any; scrubs provided if going into surgery
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, manage change well, be social, assertive, confident in skills, and a team player

The Labor and Delivery unit provides Level 1 maternity and nursery care, supporting both labor and post-partum patients in an integrated care model. The facility is part of a larger regional health system with multiple locations across the Southern region, emphasizing teamwork, quality patient care, and adherence to established nursing guidelines.
