Credentialing Specialist

The Credentialing Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the credentialing and re-credentialing of Iowa Ortho providers, clinic staff, and surgery staff. This position helps ensure all credentials are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements while contributing to the high standards of care our patients expect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and submit credentialing and re-credentialing applications for providers, clinic staff, and surgery staff.
• Maintain accurate and organized credentialing records and documentation.
• Communicate with insurance companies, hospitals, and other entities to support the credentialing process.
• Track and monitor expiration dates for provider and staff licenses, certifications, and other required credentials, including mandatory reporter training and professional certifications, ensuring timely renewals.
• Track and maintain records of continuing education (CE) requirements for providers and staff, ensuring compliance with licensing boards and organizational policies.
• Learn and apply credentialing regulations, payer requirements, and industry best practices.
• Respond to credentialing-related inquiries and assist providers, clinic staff, and surgery staff as needed.
• Support administrative tasks related to credentialing, including data entry and file management.

Requirements

• Prior Credentialing Experience.
• Prior administrative or healthcare experience.
• Ability to learn and follow credentialing procedures and regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
