Senior Network EngineerThe Senior Network Engineer position focuses on the intersection of enterprise connectivity and regulatory compliance for the healthcare IT systems. They are responsible for the design, implementation, and management of complex enterprise network infrastructures, focusing on architecture, security, and automation. Beyond standard networking, this role is critical for ensuring that the hospital clinical, financial, and operational systems remain accessible and secure. Actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Pipeline Health, upholding standards of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you) patient communication.Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.Essential Functions:Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructure that directly supports healthcare business software in complex, multi-site medical environments.Design, install, and configure network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.Ensure all network architecture aligns with industry standards like HIPAA and HITRUST.Configure and maintain wired and wireless connectivity for seamless system integration.Implement zero-trust architectures and segmentation strategies to isolate sensitive and protected data and systems from general guest or administrative traffic.Maintain critical infrastructure (servers, security appliances, telephony) to ensure system availability 24/7 to support hospital business operations.Benchmark analyze reports on and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.Implement and maintain firewalls and VPNs.Lead the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all hardware and software based on departmental needs.Create network diagrams and maintain updated real-time documentation.Perform onsite and remote support of the IT infrastructure.Behavioral Standards:Exhibits excellent customer and service-oriented behaviors in everyday work interactions.Demonstrates a courteous and respectful attitude to internal workforce and external customers.Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks and job assignments.Demonstrates the ability to prepare work schedule and assignments and performs the tasks as assigned.Communication/Knowledge:Provides accurate and timely written and verbal communication of information in a manner that is understood by all.Able to listen, understand, problem-solve, and carry-out duties to ensure the optimal outcome.Able to use IT systems in an accurate and proficient manner.Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Demonstrates the ability to research and coordinate information and distribute accordingly.Demonstrates and understands the various procedures within the department.Collaboration/Teamwork:Contributes toward effective, positive working relationships with internal and external colleagues.Demonstrates cooperation, flexibility, reliability, and dependability in all daily work activities and a willingness to collaborate with others for the good of the customer and the organization.Must be able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities.Maintain and foster a collaborative relationship with colleagues.Qualifications/Experience:Minimum of seven (7) years of IT system experience required including but not limited to designing, implementing and supporting enterprise routing, switching, and firewall infrastructure in an enterprise environment.Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare specific experience required.Strong knowledge of multi-platform systems, virtual environments, and centralized storage.Strong knowledge of local area network administration.Proficiency in the design, implementation, and maintenance of SD-WAN and hybrid cloud environments.Experience supporting or integrating with colocation and datacenter environments, including cross-connects, circuit provisioning, and coordination with datacenter providers.Proficiency in advanced troubleshooting of complete routing and network security controls.QualificationsEducationPreferred: Bachelors or better in Computer Science.Preferred: Bachelors or better in Information Technology.Licenses & CertificationsRequired: Cisco (CCNA)Required: Fortinet NSE 4Preferred: Fortinet NSE 7Preferred: Fortinet NSE 8Preferred: WPV Tier IEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
