Job Title: Quality Manager Job #: 2025-16585 Location: Brighton, MI Industry: Manufacturing (Paint, Coatings, Chemicals) Schedule: 1st Shift (Days) Background: Must pass a background check & drug test. Job Overview Seeking a leader who is hands‑on with at least 3 years of Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have strong interpersonal skills and will interact with multiple teams in the plant. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. Chemical experience and quality certifications are pluses. Company website: Responsibilities Drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with quality standards, and foster a culture of operational excellence. Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians in daily testing, quality inspections, audits, and process improvements. Manage the ISO 9001 Quality Management System to ensure compliance, certification, and documentation. Lead internal and external ISO audits, address corrective actions, and maintain certifications. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement process improvements using Lean or Six Sigma methodologies. Monitor quality metrics to ensure products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements. Oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes, addressing root causes and preventing recurrence. Provide training on quality standards and best practices, promoting cross‑functional collaboration. Develop annual quality goals and execute programs to accomplish these goals, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of quality metrics, audits, and corrective actions. Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to assess and improve supplier quality. Use the SAP system to cease any process or product delivery due to non‑conformance (safety/regulatory issue, customer requirements, etc.). Manage distressed and at‑risk inventory processes and raw material approvals. Prepare and present comprehensive performance reports to senior executives, including KPIs, trend analysis, and long‑term strategies to improve product quality. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in Chemistry or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Management; 1‑3 years of manufacturing plant experience. Strong problem‑solving, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills. Experience with Microsoft Office. Preferred: ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems knowledge. Experience in a chemical manufacturing plant. Knowledge of paint & coatings chemistry. Experience as a Co‑op (optional). Experience using SAP/S4 HANA. Experience with statistical software/applications for data analysis.
