Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with Level II trauma and DaVinci robotic surgery experience for a 13-week day shift assignment.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a short-term acute care hospital
• 1:1 patient ratios
• High acuity ortho, neuro, and general trauma cases performed at all times of day as part of Level II Trauma certification
• Unit runs 20-22 rooms per day with 60-70 cases daily
• Common equipment includes DaVinci Xi and DaVinci 5 Robots, Doppler, Ultrasound, Neptune, Aquamantis, Video Systems, Lasers, Various Stapling Systems, Hana and Jackson tables, Neuro Beds with Attachments, and Cryoablation
• Uses Epic charting system with 1 year of experience required
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours) from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• On-call required up to four 8-hour shifts per 4-week cycle
• No floating within the unit, though occasional floating to another facility within the health system may be required

Requirements

• Active or pending RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Level I or II trauma experience required (3 years preferred)
• Must have well-rounded experience across multiple specialties including Ortho (including total joints), Neuro (including craniotomies), Gen/Trauma, Vascular, Endovascular/Hybrid, GYN/Uro, ENT/Plastics, Eyes, and Robotics
• DaVinci and DV5 Robotic experience required, along with laparoscopic experience and majority 3-4 level cases for adult and pediatric general surgery
• 1 year of Epic experience required
• Must be comfortable independently circulating major cases in a full-service operating room
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Two professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor (Charge Nurse accepted)
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration

Additional Information

• Independently circulate major surgical cases across a wide range of specialties in a high-volume operating room
• Facility is a nonprofit Level II Trauma Center with 385 total staffed beds
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is free
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests are considered on a case-by-case basis with no identified limitations
