Branch ManagerInternal Classification: NBU4 (FLSA Non-exempt)Location: Lake Community Branch (565 Market Ave., SW, Uniontown, OH 44685)Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)Target Salary Range: $60,820-$76,100/year, commensurate with education and experienceStark Library is seeking a Branch Manager for our Lake Community Branch facility, sharing a campus with the Lake Middle & High Schools and the local YMCA. One of Stark Library's busier locations, Lake Community Branch offers a recently renovated interior with study rooms and a meeting room, along with a 24/7 lobby with a holds locker. The branch also offers the traditional library amenities such as a broad collection of materials and access to computers, printing, and faxing.The Branch Manager's primary responsibility will be leading their staff to provide exceptional customer service to our patrons and uphold our mission and values - respect, inclusion, stewardship, and progress. Represents the community's interests and needs during central planning. Ensures consistent branch implementation of initiatives, policies, and procedures to advance the mission of the Library. Supervises a staff of individual contributors.Essential FunctionsBranch OperationsCultivates a welcoming environment and efficient operation for patrons; supports staff in resolution of patron issues and concernsDevelops and communicates goals, plans, and procedures for the branchImplements system-wide circulation policies, procedures, and workflowsGuides staff in coordination with Collection Development department to manage and promote the branch's collectionManages branch budgets and resourcesMonitors safety and security of facility and equipmentCollaborates with fellow tenants of shared facilities to leverage space and resources for mutual benefitFosters community engagement by seeking and developing local partnerships to better understand and address community needsSchedules services and programsGuides staff in planning, delivering, and evaluating outreach activities and programmingMonitors key performance indicators to evaluate effectiveness of services and offerings; submits assessment and action plans according to set scheduleStaff SupervisionInterviews, selects, onboards, instructs, cross-trains, and supervises department staffSets performance measures, provides regular feedback, and holds staff accountableInterprets, explains, and upholds adherence to organizational policies, processes, and standard operating proceduresDelegates and monitors special projectsEnsures staffing levels support operating hours and functional needs of the LibraryOther FunctionsContributes to or is responsible for system-wide project(s) and functions related to Public ServiceMay serve as Branch's Passport Program Manager, as a Passport Agent and/or as a Notary PublicEngages in professional development to maintain skills and knowledge of emerging ideas and practicesOther duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor's Degree. The employee is required to speak and hear, sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands and fingers to perform repetitive motions, climb ladders to reach high shelves, squat reach low shelves, reach for materials at various angles and locations, and to lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds. It requires the ability to use standard office equipment including computers.Some travel by personal automobile for off-site meetings in various settings may occur. Occasional overnight travel may be required.Working hours vary based on community service event schedules and when the Library is open to the public.
