Director Therapy Services

Job Summary Administrator and Clinician within Therapy practice. Requires clinical expertise in evaluation and treatment. Must assume responsibility for direction, supervision and coordination of activities within the Therapy Departments. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care as needed, including evaluation and consultations. Plans therapy programs, establishes treatment goals and administers treatment to restore body functions and strength, relieve pain and prevent disability using various procedures. Confers with medical providers regarding patient tests and treatments, including patient evaluations and therapy programs. Spearheads new treatment approaches and develops the structure of new programs. Develops active learning experiences within the Therapy department. Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of developments in the therapy field. Maintains therapy equipment, apparatus and work area to ensure proper working conditions; oversees preventative maintenance and arranges necessary repair services; recommends items for purchase. Coordinates/delegates services, procedures and daily operations for the facility. Maintains regular contact with referring medical personnel, including physicians, rehabilitation nurses, social workers, etc. Promotes effective and harmonious interaction with medical personnel. Evaluates and resolves operational problems, including staff and patient complaints, in concert with departmental supervisors. Assists in the development of appropriate referral procedures for therapy patients. Develops strategy for meeting production goals. Assists in updating all applicable department policy and procedure manuals.
