Senior Technical Analyst

Job Description The Procurement Senior Technical Analyst will work closely with the Assistant Director of Procurement Business Operations in the administration of all electronic procurement systems and related processes. This position is responsible for driving enhancements and improvements of all procurement systems, integrations, and related processes, ensuring Notre Dame deploys the most advanced technologies in support of campus procurement and travel. The Senior Technical Analyst serves as an expert and mentor for the Procurement Business Operations team, elevating the knowledge and capabilities of the entire team. They communicate with software suppliers and campus units to understand usability and business needs, ensuring systems continue to meet the needs of the University. They stay informed of current technologies and integrate with Campus IT strategy to keep systems relevant and support campus efficiencies. They actively engage in the higher‑ed procurement and systems communities through networking and relationship building for benchmarking and other inputs to maximize the effectiveness of procurement systems. The role supports the Strategic Sourcing Methodology and procurement transactions, and collaborates with department members to facilitate sourcing. They create and interpret reports to support projects and execute departmental strategies related to market analysis, spend analysis, e‑procurement catalogs, data management, ad‑hoc reporting, and training and communications. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reporting and Data Analysis Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Procurement Business Operations to create and update reports and improve reporting capabilities. Analyze business needs, develop creative reporting solutions, and provide campus constituents with the data they need. Update and maintain databases with relevant information for vendors and other details. Team Leadership and Mentorship Mentor and lead others on the systems team to increase the overall knowledge of the team. Strategic Sourcing and Market Insight Support the Strategic Sourcing Methodology and related projects through spend analysis, market insight, price/cost analysis, e‑procurement catalogs creation and management, reporting on key performance indicators, and supplier effectiveness. Add value by continuous improvement of the Strategic Sourcing Methodology process. Training and Communications Coordinate, develop various forms of communications (website content, newsletters, emails, social media, vendor fair, etc.) as necessary. Create and update documentation, communication material, and other content for end‑user support and training. Conduct and support training classes on procurement systems, policies and procedures for the campus users as directed. Perform other duties as assigned. Systems Administration and Operations Provide day‑to‑day administration and operational tasks to the procurement systems. Backup support to the Procurement Help Desk. Assist the team during system upgrades and maintenance, catalog management, e‑procurement setup including testing, troubleshooting and issue resolution. Some work such as upgrade testing, monitoring systems and help desk support may be required after business hours or on weekends. Attend related meetings in OIT and Controller’s Group as necessary or called upon. Research and Continuous Improvement Work closely with the Assistant Director of Procurement Business Operations to research and investigate procurement systems and processes to drive system enhancements, providing best‑in‑class procurement services. Create and grow relationships with peers for support, ideas and feedback. Take part in events highlighting the University’s progress and seeking ideas and new contacts. Lead team discussions, brainstorming and investigations into ways to improve systems, system integrations, reporting, data sources and other related processes. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in Business Administration or Computer Science. Experience: 7 or more years.
