Med Surg Nurse - Faulkner

Job Summary Site: Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. (BWFH) is a community teaching hospital located in Jamaica Plain and affiliated with Mass General Brigham. Schedule: 36 hours per week (8‑12 hour shifts), day and night. Every other weekend and holiday rotation. Unit: BWFH6North is a 36‑private‑bed general medicine/telemetry, progressive care unit serving adults and older adults with complex medical and psychosocial conditions, including CHF, diabetes, pneumonia and other conditions. The unit has telemetry, bed/chair alarms, and patient transfer equipment. Eight beds are designated for addiction recovery. The Addiction Recovery Program (ARP) serves adults seeking voluntary detoxification for alcohol and opiate misuse. Under the direction of the nursing leadership team, care is provided by direct‑care nurses in collaboration with medical providers, including mid‑level practitioners (NP/PA). Responsibilities Provide direct‑care nursing for patients in the general medicine/telemetry unit. Collaborate with medical providers, including mid‑level practitioners (NP/PA). Manage patient monitoring systems such as telemetry, bed/chair alarms, and patient transfer equipment. Assist patients in the Addiction Recovery Program (ARP) for voluntary detoxification of alcohol and opiate misuse. Adhere to IC.A.R.E. standards and hospital standards of service, teamwork, communication, respect, and time/priority management. Qualifications BSN required. Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required. Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required. Med./surg./telemetry experience strongly preferred. Basic analytic thinking and observational skills to care for a group of patients. Ability to set priorities and function under stress with good interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated skills in applying hospital standards, teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time/priority management. Additional Job Details Remote type: Onsite.
