Economic Analyst

Position Economic Analyst Work Location Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC Job Category Intelligence Job Type Shift Clearance and Citizenship U.S. Citizen; TS/SCI with a CI Polygraph; must maintain a DoD security clearance. Job Responsibilities Analyze defense budgets and related spending to determine force affordability and defense funding and produce all-source finished intelligence on global defense economics in support of warfighters, policymakers and the acquisition community. Maintain and update related data in the IC's authoritative database for worldwide defense spending. Conduct research and analysis of foreign economic influence. Responsible for analyzing economic vulnerabilities to identify leverage points and emerging economic issues and their impact on foreign internal stability. Familiarity with a wide range of publicly available economic data. Conduct analysis on the effectiveness of sanctions, international sanctions compliance, and target country's ability to evade or circumvent sanctions; includes analysis of emerging evasion methods such as digital and cryptocurrencies and alternate financial systems. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience or 7+ years of equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience producing all-source intelligence analysis reports and briefings and input to IC databases. Experience with Microsoft Office and IC Databases. Ability to develop high-quality deliverables tailored to senior policymakers or defense stakeholders, including complex written products and formal or informal briefings. Knowledge of macroeconomics and financial markets. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have and be capable of maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security clearance at the appropriate level. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience with economic analysis support in the IC macroeconomics. Knowledge of data science principles and databases, including SQL. Knowledge of ICD 203/206 analytic tradecraft standards.
