Abbott seeks a Mechanical Engineer for its Core Lab division in Irving, Texas to support development and improvement of diagnostic products, manufacturing processes, and tooling. The role involves design, analysis, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions for global healthcare applications.

Responsibilities

Design and develop product components, subassemblies, tooling, and fixtures
Analyze designs using testing, simulations, and engineering calculations
Build and evaluate prototypes to verify performance and reduce design risks
Support product testing, validation, reliability assessments, and troubleshooting
Participate in risk assessments and design reviews; lead smaller projects or components

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related STEM field
Minimum 3 years of relevant product or process development experience
Technical knowledge of subsystems, design protocols, and problem-solving tools
Strong analytical and statistical reasoning abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environments
SolidWorks experience preferred

Compensation: $61,300–$122,700 base
