About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours (6:30 AM - 4:30 PM) Experience: Minimum of 1 year in the related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification required, ACLS certification required Must-Have: Ability to manage complex care situations, knowledge of nursing process, effective communication skills Description: The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to plan for long-range goals. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage clinical situations. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with nursing standards, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
