The School Psychologist provides diagnostic, prescriptive, and consultative services to improve the educational and socio-emotional experience of students. This role includes conducting psycho-educational assessments, providing direct interventions such as counseling and affective education, consulting with teachers and families, and supporting Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and crisis response initiatives. The School Psychologist ensures students receive evidence-based support to enhance academic, social, and behavioral outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

• Part-time, Non-exempt (16 hours/week)

• Educational Specialist Degree (EdS) from a CDE-approved institution
• Valid Colorado Department of Education School Psychologist licensure, or DORA Licensed Psychologist pursuing CDE licensure/authorization, or actively in the process of securing same
• Criminal background check clearance
• Successful completion of school psychology internship (minimum 1200 hours, 600 in a school setting)
• Knowledge of intelligence tests, social/emotional assessments, and behavior assessment/consultation
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to student success and professional ethics

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct observational and diagnostic evaluations to determine students’ learning, emotional, and behavioral needs and develop strategies to address them.
• Provide direct services through individual, small group, whole-class, and family contacts.
• Consult with staff and parents regarding students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Provide preventative mental health education to students, staff, and families.
• Deliver direct and consultative services related to eligibility determination and IEP goals.
• Collaborate with personnel from other educational agencies and human service organizations.
• Support multidisciplinary teams and teachers with implementing and monitoring evidence-based behavioral and academic interventions.
• Facilitate the implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in developing and implementing standards-based programs.
• Conduct program development and evaluation for a variety of students and programs within the school.
• Communicate assessment results clearly and effectively to families, staff, and administration.
• Provide staff development through individual consultation and in-service training sessions.
• Establish and maintain confidential records of screenings, evaluations, and student progress toward goals.
• Participate in professional development, mandatory meetings, and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as required.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Work primarily performed in a school setting interacting with students, staff, and families
• Occasional standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently
• Mental functions include communicating, analyzing, coordinating, instructing, evaluating, and using interpersonal skills
• Exposure to routine classroom and office environments
