Job Summary The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmaceutical care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapy through the provision of clinical pharmacy services. The role involves monitoring and intervening in therapeutics to provide optimal outcomes in a cost‑effective manner while fulfilling departmental responsibilities aligned with the hospital’s mission. Responsibilities Apply problem‑solving abilities to resolve issues, consulting with knowledgeable parties as necessary. Maintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly. Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints. Determine and consult on possible drug interactions. Assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals. Monitor, record and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems. Apply knowledge of age‑specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilities. Qualifications Current TN Pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure. One‑year hospital experience or equivalent. Hospital pharmacy residency preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 60 months of employment start date. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 60 months of employment start date. Doctorate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree. We are an equal opportunity employer.
