Diesel Technician

Position Description We're hiring an experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Cheektowaga, New York. The role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career path that you can feel good about. Benefits Hourly Pay: $28.84 per hour Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700 Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 per quarter (four times a year) Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days Tool Box/Tool Allowance Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday Hours: Second Shift Tuesday‑Friday 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm; Saturday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm On‑the‑Job Paid Training PPE and uniforms issued Tool and boot allowance provided State‑of‑the‑art equipment Safety is always the first priority Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Two (2) or more years of classroom training and/or work experience in required repair practices preferred Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire, pass a Ryder drug test, pass a DOT physical, pass a Ryder road test, and pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years Responsibilities Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections Conducts preventive maintenance Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable Identifies root causes of basic failures or conditions and performs repairs as required Replaces defective components as instructed Performs facility maintenance duties Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task Utilizes key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available Works in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT) Performs other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug‑Free workplace.
