About the Position

Job Title: Certified Nursing Attendant Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long-Term Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day and Evening shifts with Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: Day Shift 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM, Evening Shift 3:00 PM - 11:15 PM Experience: 1 year of experience in Long-Term Care License: Client Certification as a Nursing Attendant Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: - Strong work ethic and professionalism - Experience with EPIC is a plus Description: Provides direct patient care and related support. Performs other related duties. Provides routine personal care to patients in a timely, safe, and effective manner. Care may include bathing, shaving, brushing teeth, dressing patients, and attending to any and all of their personal care needs. Prepares patients for meals and assists with feeding as necessary. Empties bedpans and collects urine and other specimens. Transfers patients to and from bed and/or chair using proper transfer techniques, including one-person and two-person transfers, and the use of a Hoyer lift. Takes accurate vital signs, temperatures, pulse, and respirations. Records all necessary information according to policy and procedure. Performs range of motion exercises using proper technique. Assists patients in walking and in transporting patients by means of a wheelchair or stretcher. Performs other related duties as required. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to work in environments with a degree of dust, noise, etc. without undue discomfort. Ability to hear, talk, walk, stand, bend, and stretch. Ability to read, write, and interpret documents. Ability to sit for long periods at a desk to perform job functions. Ability to stand for long periods at the patient bedside and/or procedural areas. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and/or co-workers. May be required to handle reasonably heavy weights across distances. May be required to assist in lifting patients onto/out of exam beds/procedure stations. Must be trained and knowledgeable of policies and procedures pertaining to hazardous waste and hazardous materials. Demonstrated understanding of all codes and safety protocols. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue. Education: High School Diploma or GED required. No prior experience needed.
