Anesthesiologist Opportunity

Join the team at HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL, for a 12-week contract. This position offers no call, no in-house call, with 8-hour shifts over 60 days. Enjoy car and lodging stipends of $250/week and $150/day respectively. The hospital uses the EPIC/iPro EMR system.

Responsibilities include directing and coordinating anesthesia department activities, managing patients during surgery, performing pre-anesthesia assessments, obtaining patient consent, discussing anesthetic options, and monitoring patient conditions.

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of Activities in the Anesthesia Department
• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
• Pre-anesthesia assessment
• Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements include a current license to practice medicine in Illinois, board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology, and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or equivalent.
