Associate Wealth Advisor – Helena / Billings, Montana Position Summary Ashton Thomas Private Wealth Management is seeking a motivated and growth-oriented Associate Wealth Advisor to join our team. This position is designed for individuals who aspire to build a long-term career in wealth management and become a successful Wealth Advisor. The Associate Wealth Advisor will participate in a structured 48-month development program that provides exposure to all facets of the wealth management business, including financial planning, investment management, client relationship management, business development, and practice management. Through mentorship, training, and hands‑on experience, the Associate Wealth Advisor will develop the skills and competencies necessary to serve clients and contribute to the continued growth of the firm. This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced advisors while developing the technical expertise, professional confidence, and business‑building skills required to become a trusted advisor to high‑net‑worth individuals and families. Key Responsibilities Support Wealth Advisors in delivering exceptional client experience. Participate in client and prospect meetings. Assist with meeting preparation, follow‑up activities, and ongoing relationship management. Develop an understanding of client goals, priorities, and financial circumstances. Build strong relationships with clients, centers of influence, and strategic partners. Assist in the preparation and presentation of comprehensive financial plans. Develop proficiency in retirement planning, cash flow analysis, estate planning, tax planning, risk management, and investment planning. Learn to analyze client portfolios and assist in developing investment recommendations. Support advisors in implementing planning and investment strategies. Assist in identifying and cultivating prospective client relationships. Participate in regular coaching and mentoring sessions with assigned Senior Wealth Advisors. Demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility and client‑facing engagement throughout the program. Development Program The Associate Wealth Advisor Development Program is designed to prepare participants for a successful transition into a Wealth Advisor role. The 48‑month program includes: Completion of required securities licensing and registrations. Structured curriculum covering financial planning, investments, client engagement, and business development. Individual coaching and mentorship from experienced Wealth Advisors. Rotational exposure to key business functions across the firm. Progressive client‑facing responsibilities. Development and execution of a personal business plan. Achievement of defined program milestones and performance objectives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and accountability. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Commitment to building a career in wealth management. Preferred Prior internship or experience within financial services, banking, investment management, or related industries. Progress toward or interest in obtaining CFP®, CFA®, CPWA®, or other professional designations. Experience with financial planning software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite. Compensation Structure Four‑year declining salary support structure, offset by Revenue Participation Salary support decreases annually by 25%, reaching 0% at the completion of Year 4. Participation in Ashton Thomas employee benefits throughout the development period. Revenue generated from personally sourced and serviced client relationships. Revenue sharing opportunities on select client relationships as determined by the sponsoring Wealth Advisor.
