Details Acute care hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit Patient ratio of 1:2 Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45p-7:15a Required to work every other weekend On-call responsibilities include two 12-hour shifts within a 6-week period Uses Epic for charting and Philips Intellispace for fetal monitoring Medications administered via Omnicell system Facility performs 200-300 births per month Requirements Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NRP Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, STABLE Epic EMR experience required Comfort with couplet care or transition nursery preferred Experience with high-risk delivery assistance, C-section scrub/circulate, and fetal monitoring preferred Additional Information Provide comprehensive nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages Skilled in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, including scrub and circulating duties Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching Navy surgical scrubs provided by the facility Free parking available with pass distributed at start date During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams First-time travelers accepted for this position Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval based on unit needs American Traveler Job ID P-742457.
