Senior Market Research Analyst

VDC Strategy is the leading consulting firm focused on insights and growth strategy for operational and industrial technology companies and a trusted partner for private equity firms that invest in operational and industrial technology businesses. We are seeking an experienced Senior Analyst & Consultant . This role combines technology market research, industry analysis, and strategy consulting, with direct involvement in client engagements from research design and market analysis through strategic recommendations and executive presentations. What You'll Do Lead market research and strategy consulting engagements from project design through final client presentation. Conduct primary research with technology executives, customers, channel partners, and industry experts. Analyze technology markets, competitive landscapes, customer requirements, and emerging trends. Develop market sizing models, forecasts, competitive assessments, and opportunity analyses. Lead and contribute to commercial due diligence, market entry, growth strategy, product strategy, and competitive intelligence engagements. Translate complex technical and market information into strategic insights and recommendations for clients. Work directly with senior and C-level executives at technology companies and with investors evaluating operational and industrial technology markets. Develop thought leadership, including market reports, white papers, webinars, and industry presentations. Mentor junior analysts and collaborate with colleagues across VDC's technology practices. Contribute to client relationships and the continued growth of VDC's research and consulting practices. What We're Looking For 5+ years of relevant professional experience in technology industry analysis, technology consulting, market intelligence, competitive intelligence, or a related research/advisory role. Experience independently leading qualitative and quantitative research projects. Strong primary research skills, including conducting interviews with executives, customers, industry participants, or subject-matter experts. Experience with market sizing, forecasting, competitive analysis, market segmentation, or market opportunity assessments. Ability to quickly learn and analyze complex or emerging technology markets. Ability to synthesize research and data into clear insights and strategic business recommendations. Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and client-facing skills. Comfortable working directly with senior and C-level executives. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience using AI tools to enhance research and analysis is a plus. Industry Experience Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: AI, industrial software, robotics, IoT, edge computing, embedded systems, OT cybersecurity, connectivity, product lifecycle management, and related technologies.
