To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of engineers and technicians, you will be responsible for design, analysis, and test input on both compressors and expanders. You’ll also work with manufacturing team members to address assembly, fabrication, and part non-conformance issues. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Special Mentions:Relocation providedTravel expected up to 15% of the timeResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Work at significant technical depth on complex subsystems with minimal oversight as part of the Zero Boil Off Turbomachinery TeamUse established professional expertise to understand and apply systems engineering fundamentals across the development cycle of systems including concept development, requirements, design, analysis, validation, integrations, safety, configuration management, verification, and testUnderstand and manage key Technical Performance Metrics for the systemSupport the development and execution of component and subsystem analysis and testsCoordinate plans for subsystem level verification test and analysisSpearhead the organization and aid in preparation efforts for reviewsEnsure timely updates and communication of system level architecture diagrams and schematicsCreatively guide the team to balance the objectives of a rapid development program while meeting the intent of standard system engineering processesTackle a range of design engineer tasks like leading trade studies, component design/integration, 1st order analysis, test support and supplier interface as the opportunities ariseMentor and educate junior Blue Origin employees on systems engineering processes and methods.Minimum Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar5+ years’ experience in Systems EngineeringExperience working on highly engineered products in rapid development environmentExperience working with cryogenic fluidsUnderstanding and passion for Systems Engineering principles and practices such as requirements definition, requirements traceability, functional decomposition, verification, and validation, creating and managing interface control document (ICD), configuration management, and systems engineering management plan (SEMP)Participate, as needed, in technical and programmatic customer interactions that require your expertiseExperience working with other project members to drive progress toward milestonesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area7+ years of experience in aerospace systems engineeringExperience with turbomachinery production, qualification testing and flight operations.Experience with requirements development/management tools (DOORS Next Gen, JAMA, etc.)Previous customer facing roles with experience presenting to and directly interacting with customersCompensation Range for:WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon’t meet all desired requirements?
