This is a part-time 50% Career position. Under the general supervision, this position works in post award research administration to independently manage research awards and transactions related to contract and grant management, and maintain contract and grant records in compliance with institutional research sponsor policies. Additionally, the incumbent performs full award administration, and analytical and strategic reporting for a multi-PI proposal portfolio. This position requires exceptional customer service skills.

Assignments include multiple PIs, multiple funding sources, multiple institutions, and multiple sites. Manages research awards of diverse scope where analysis of data requires thorough understanding of complex regulations and requirements. Completes and approves transactions for signature by manager or other authorized institutional official.

Comprehensive post award management includes using strong analytical skills for allocation and expense monitoring, understanding of agency-specific requirements, detailed and timely reporting, and advisement to faculty. All post award transactions will be supported by this position.

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in a university environment.

Thorough knowledge of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc.

Ability to manage significant volume of transactions.

Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.

Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management and financial reports.

Ability to maintain independent judgment; strong organization and communication skills; and a customer service focus across broad and diverse subject areas.

Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research administration.

Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting, fiscal and reporting principles.

Proven ability to analyze complex financial issues, recognize potential impact, identify creative and alternative solutions; make and implement recommendations. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and with ability to exercise discretion.

Ability to analyze and prepare budgets, to identify spending patterns and project future expenditures. Skill in projecting salary, benefit and indirect costs, with knowledge of payroll and personnel regulations impacting such costs.

This is a part-time 50% Career position with a hiring salary of 50% of $75,180 per Year. Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.
