Duties Description Seasonal Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) staff support the mission of CEH by performing a variety of administrative functions during New York State’s summer season and beyond. Positions assist CEH district office environmental health staff by performing a variety of critical administrative support functions such as answering office telephones, triaging calls, sorting and distributing mail, filing documents, maintaining office file systems, and performing data entry. A seasonal Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) role provides interested individuals with the ability to gain real world experience in the field of public health through on-the-job training. Flexible opportunities begin in early May and extend through September 2026.

Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title. Candidates interested in this opportunity are encouraged to apply. Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will be interested in exploring a career in public/environmental health; ability to work independently and as part of a team; effective problem solving skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and other computer programs as needed.

Additional Comments Temporary, seasonal, full-time, competitive appointment opportunity.
