Interim Supply Chain Manager (Contract)

Location: Near Evanston, IL | Hybrid

Compensation: $45–$50/hour (based on experience)

Duration: 6–12 Month Contract

We are partnering with a stable, growing manufacturer with over 100 years of industry success to identify an experienced Interim Supply Chain Manager. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone with a strong manufacturing background who can quickly step in and drive sourcing, supplier management, procurement, MRO purchasing, and logistics operations.

This role will have heavy interaction with suppliers and vendors, including negotiating pricing, contract terms, lead times, and service agreements while ensuring production demands are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage sourcing and procurement activities across direct materials, indirect materials, and MRO supplies

• Identify, evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers to improve cost, quality, delivery, and lead-time performance

• Lead supplier negotiations, contract discussions, pricing agreements, and vendor performance management

• Partner closely with operations, engineering, planning, and production teams to support manufacturing needs

• Oversee inbound/outbound logistics, freight, transportation, and carrier relationships

• Drive cost savings and process improvements across procurement and supply chain operations

• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing, inventory, and logistics data

• Resolve supplier, shipping, and material availability issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of supply chain, sourcing, procurement, or logistics experience within manufacturing

• Strong experience working directly with suppliers, vendor negotiations, and contract management

• Experience with MRO purchasing and supplier development

• Background managing transportation, freight, and logistics operations

• ERP/MRP system experience required

• Ability to operate in a hands-on environment with minimal ramp-up time

Compensation & Benefits:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $45–$50/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
