Site Safety and Health Officer

The Safety Inspector is responsible for developing and implementing site‑specific health and safety programs. The role requires knowledge of OSHA reporting, HAZWOPER 40, EM‑385‑1‑1 compliance and the ability to create method statements for establishing and managing a Safety Department for major industrial or construction projects. The position ensures ongoing compliance and reporting for all regulatory and company requirements. Responsibilities Develop, implement and monitor safety programs in line with OSHA, HAZWOPER and EM‑385‑1‑1 standards. Prepare detailed method statements and maintain all health and safety documentation. Conduct routine health and safety inspections and audits. Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions. Train staff on safety procedures and compliance. Maintain compliance records and submit reports as required. Perform office and field safety inspections; respond to emergencies out of hours if required. Walk, stand and inspect various facility and construction environments. Qualifications Secret clearance required. Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or current certification in OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER 40, EM‑385‑1‑1. Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) Level 1.
