Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Manager (QCM)/Super to lead quality assurance and oversight on construction projects. The primary purpose of this role is to enforce quality standards, manage inspections and testing, and coordinate corrective actions to ensure project deliverables meet contract specifications and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in QCM processes and a practical understanding of construction operations; federal project experience and superintendent-level experience are a plus. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and procedures to ensure compliance with contract specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections, tests, and audits of materials, workmanship, and completed work; document findings and track corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project management, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve quality issues and ensure timely corrective measures.
- Prepare and maintain accurate quality documentation, inspection reports, test records, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and daily quality logs.
- Lead and deliver quality training and orientation for site personnel to promote a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to quality standards.
- Assist in reviewing project submittals, shop drawings, and material certifications for conformance to project requirements.
- Participate in project meetings, provide quality input for scheduling and risk mitigation, and communicate quality status to stakeholders.
- Support final acceptance inspections and turnover activities by ensuring punch lists are completed and quality deficiencies are resolved.
- Drive root-cause analysis for recurring quality issues and implement preventive measures to reduce rework and increase productivity.
- Proven experience in Quality Control Management (QCM) on construction projects; demonstrated ability to develop and implement QC plans and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, codes, and inspection/testing processes.
- Excellent documentation skills with experience preparing inspection reports, NCRs, and quality records.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve issues.
- Ability to lead quality-focused training and coach site personnel on QA/QC best practices.
- Desired: Superintendent-level (Super) experience in construction to facilitate coordination between quality and site operations.
- Desired: Experience on federal projects or knowledge of federal contracting requirements, standards, and reporting.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., QCM certification, ACI, NDT, ISO-related certifications) or equivalent practical experience preferred.
- Ability to work in the field, perform inspections, and travel to project sites as needed.
